New GEF CEO Appointed
June 9, 2006.The Council of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) appointed Mrs. Monique Barbut, a French national, to a three-year term as its Chief Executive Officer and Chairperson.
Mrs. Barbut, who was most recently the Director of the Division of Technology, Industry and Economics, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), succeeded Mr. Leonard Good, who retired on 14 July, 2006.
